I'm Heather Hall and I’m a transformative Leadership Coach, strategic Executive Coach, and evocative Spiritual Director. I help aspiring introverted leaders, and their managers, connect with their voices and values to bring their ideas and vision to life.
With 20+ years' experience in corporate America - most of that with cross-functional, cross-country and international teams - I've seen firsthand how many of our aspiring leaders are overlooked by managers because we don't fit the "mold" of a successful leader. As an introvert, I understand how challenging it can be to show up as your authentic self in a culture made by extroverts for extroverts.
If you're anything like me, you got the message early in your life to "speak when spoken to," only raise your hand when you were certain you had the right answer, and "think before you speak." With colleagues, you are usually reserved, only to wonder later why they didn't ask what you think. And during formal meetings, you try and try, but can't seem to be heard above the noise. I've been there. I see you trying and hear your unspoken frustration.
In my work with teams, I've seen the impact – to morale, productivity, and community building – that transpires when all voices are heard. When we respect the experience and insights of each member of the team, we support diversity and foster innovation.
In addition to building better teams, I've witnessed the transformation when quiet leaders feel seen and heard. Their engagement and commitment to their leaders elevates, as does their contribution to the organization.
Like most introverts, I didn't start out as a team player. And deciding that I wanted to become a team player didn't mean it was easy. Fortunately, I had the support of managers, mentors and advisors who saw my potential and helped me to become more than I was and more than I knew I could be.
During my leadership journey, I learned a lot about the challenges of life outside my comfort zone and the importance of living according to my own values. After years of trying to be the person I thought others wanted or needed me to be, I learned to set my priorities and my boundaries in alignment with my values. Slowly, piece-by-piece, I started tending to my whole self. After a lifetime of neglecting my body and soul, my journey towards wholeness led me to become a life coach and a spiritual director.

And, I am the author of Step Up and Stand Out: 20 Tips for Aspiring Introverted Leaders. Written to show quiet leaders how to own their strengths, trust their story, and live success on their own terms – without straying far from their comfort zone – Step Up and Stand Out will help introverted leaders to thrive. (Hint: They do not need to conform to the bold, energetic, and outgoing style of their extroverted colleagues.)
I'm privileged to support others who seek their own truth, success on their own terms, and connection with something more.
